Gir (360 kms)  - Sasan Gir is a wildlife sanctuary known for Asiatic Lions and Birding.  Lion Safari Camp and Vanvaso are good riverside retreats. Amidhara Resort offers a swimming pool. Access: Overnight Train to Veraval (70 kms from Gir) is a good option. It takes about 6-7 hours by Road. There is a convenient overnight train as well to Junagadh / Veraval from Ahmedabad.

Diu / Ahmedpur Mandvi (400 kms) - Diu , a union territory is the one of the best beach retreat from Ahmedabad.  Radhika Resort offers the best beach-front accommodation.
