Hampi : (Karnataka)- 350 kms North of Bangalore. Two local princes, Hakka & Bukka, founded Hampi in the middle of 14th Century. Celebrated for its might and wealth and a showpiece of imperial magnificence. The city was sacked pillaged and burnt in 1565 AD. Rocky hills and the Tungabhadra River dominate the terrain.

Coonoor : (Tamilnadu)- 314 kms South of Bangalore. Coonoor known as the Queen of the Nilgiris, stands on a lower ridge of the main plateau at an altitude of 1839 meters. This picturesque retreat is covered by grassy meadows, tea bushes, and a profusion of sunflowers, marigolds and rhododendrons.
