Mahindra Homestay Citrus County is
a homestay located amidst
picturesque village in Hoshiarpur, Punjab (India) that is
about 75 km, Anandpur Sahib, a Sikh pilgrimage centre (where Gurugobind Singh started the
Khalsa Panth).
Hosts
- Harkreet Singh and his wife
Jasveen are the hosts of the beautiful abode. After
finishing his education in mass communication in Chandigarh,
Harkreet decided to settle in Hoshiarpur in 2000 and work on
their ancestral farm. Guests enjoy their interactions with the
couple and the feel-at-home hospitability. Jasveen enjoys gardening and taking care of the house,
Harkreet is fond of playing badminton, jogging
and cooking. He particulary likes cooking non-vegetarian
cuisines like coconut fish, cottage cheese, and varied chicken
dishes.
Homestay
- Consisting of four rooms and six luxury tents, the homestay
provides for five star facilities in a home like environment.
The double bedded rooms are spacious with modernly equipped
attached bathrooms. Full-size glass windows in each room give
a wide view of the area around the house. The homestay is a
two-floored residential building with well-maintained lawns on
the front and back side. Orange twist (lounge) in the front
lawn serve the best of the malts, scotch, whisky, wines, beer,
(also in the tent) and makes an ideal place for chilling out
or making interesting conversations.
Around
- Due to the homestay’s location in a village, interesting
activities like a jungle safari, village safari and a tour of
the family owned citrus county can be arranged for. Hoshiarpur
is a small and a quiet town in the Doaba region of Punjab.
Located in the lap of the Shiwalik range, it is considered to
be the greenest of the districts within the state. A large
number of people from this region have settled abroad. Their
remittances have in turn helped the area to prosper, making it
arguably one of the most prosperous in Punjab. The handicrafts
from Hoshiarpur too are very popular and are exported to
