RJ/01a - Udaipur - Jodhpur - Khimsar - Jaipur (8-9 nights)

Route : Udaipur (2 nights) - Jodhpur (2 nights) - Khimsar (1 night) - Jaipur (2 nights) 

Highlight - This is a recommended tourist itinerary of Rajasthan where guests do not wish to travel to extreme Desert West to Jaisalmer but still looks to enjoy Desert and experiential stay experience (at Khimsar). 

• Day 01: Arrive Uaipur - Arrive Udaipur airport/ railway station and transfer to hotel. Evening boat ride at Lake Pichola (subject to water level) Overnight at hotel

• Day 02: Udaipur - After breakfast, proceed for half day sightseeing visiting City Palace, Saheliyon ki Badi and Jagdish Temple. Afternoon free to explore the city on own. Overnight at hotel

• Day 03: Udaipur - Ranakpur -Jodhpur (approx 260 kms/4 1/2 hrs) - After breakfast, depart by surface to Jodhpur wneoute visiting Ranakpur (70 kms from Udaipur). Arrive Jodhpur and check-in, rest afternoon at leisure or explore the local markets. Overnight at hotel

• Day 04: Jodhpur - After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour visiting Meherangarh fort, Jaswant Thada and Mandore gardens. Afternoon, short excursion to Bishnoi Village. The countryside south of Jodhpur is strewn with villages, their mud and thatch huts inhabited by the Bishnoi and communities of potters and weavers. Overnight at hotel

• Day 05: Jodhpur -Khimsar (approx 90 kms/2 1/2 hrs) - After breakfast, depart by surface to Khimsar. Arrive and check in at hotel. Enjoy the stay at Khimsar Fort and visit sand dunes in the evening. Overnight at hotel

• Day 06:Khimsar -Jaipur - (approx 330 kms/05-06 hrs) - After breakfast, depart by surface to Jaipur. Evening arrive Jaipur and check-in at hotel. Overnight at hotel

• Day 07: Jaipur -After breakfast,  proceed for full day sightseeing covering Amer Fort (optional:Elephant ride at Amber Fort), Jantar Mantar (Observatory), photo stop at Hawa Mahal and City Palace. Overnight at hotel

• Day 08: Depart Jaipur - After breakfast, morning at leisure on own. 12:00 hrs check-out and transfer to Jaipur railway station or airport

Extensions 

• Agra can be considered after Jaipur for visiting Taj Mahal

• Ranthambhore can be considered after Jaipur. Ranthambhore is a tiger sanctuary and visited for its wildlife and variety of Birds.

• Ravla Khempur and Karni Fort are couple of stays with a difference around Udaipur. Ravla Khempur provides rural ambience and specialise in Horse Safaris. Karni Fort is a heritage getaway and where horse safaris around the area is possible.

• Between Udaipur and Jodhpur, Ravla Narlai and Ganerao Royal Castle are two experiential stays that can be considered for a rural / heritage getaway experience.

• An activity oriented rural retreat near Jodhpur like Rohetgarh or Chanwa Luni can be opted for an experience oriented (Village Visits, Horse Safari, Jeep Rides) itinerary. For a more village like experience, Bishnoi Village is an excellent option.

• Guests may opt for Fort Madhogarh instead of Jaipur stay. Fort Madhogarh offers an experiential stay that involves Camel rides and Jeep Safari to the village, Half day Camel/ Horse/ Jeep Safari to the Tunga battle field, cenotaphs and step wells, bird watching etc. Cookery lessons in Rajasthani cuisine are also available on prior request. Royal Castle Kanota can also be considered for an off-beat experience centric stay around Jaipur.

Access - Udaipur is best accessed by Air or from Ahmedabad (250 kms). Jaipur is the state capital of Rajasthan which gets trains and flights from all major centres in India.
