RJ/07 - Willdlife / Birding Itinerary- Ranthambhore - Bharatpur - Chambal (5 nights)

Route - Ranthambhore (2 nights) - Bharatpur (Day visit) - Chambal (2 to 3 nights)

Highlight - This is a short-break tourist itinerary for North India  that covers two major wildlife destinations in Ranthambhore (Tigers) and Bharatpur (Migratory Birds) with a possible extension to visit Chambal Safari Lodge (Gangetic Dolphins, Birds and Crocodiles). Travel in this itinerary is ideally to be done by train. 

Recommended Itinerary (This is an indicative itinerary, Sequence of the activities may vary and depend on prevailing weather condition and guest preferences)

Day 1 - From Delhi - Sawai Madhopur (12 kms from Ranthambhore). Reach by Afternoon (by Train). Visit the Park in the Evening (Canter Safari).
Day 2 - Visit the Park in the Morning and evening (Canter / Jeep Safari).
Day 3 - Leave early morning. From Sawai Madhopur - Bharatpur (By Train). Park Visit at Bharatpur sighting Migratory birds. By late afternoon travel to Chambal (140 kms via Agra) and reach by late evening.
Day 4 and Day 5 - Spend two nights at Chambal spotting Marsh Crocodiles / Alligators, Gangetic Dolphins and Migratory Birds. River Safari and visit to Sarus Crane Reserve is recommended for bird watchers.
Day 6 - Leave for Delhi via Agra (may visit Taj Mahal in the evening before taking the late evening train) or onward journey.

• Agra stay is recommended for visiting heritage monuments in the area.

Access - 2904 Golden Temple Mail from Delhi-Sawai Madhopur is an Ideal train (6 hours). From Sawai Madhopur to Bharatpur, 2059 Kota Janashatabdi is a good train (2 hours). For Agra - Delhi 2279 Taj Express or evening Shatabdi Express is recommended (3 hours).
