South Africa - The Best of South Africa 15 days

Day 1: (Thu) Arrive Johannesburg
On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure for you to explore the wonderful shopping experiences that this city has to offer. Many are in close proximity to your hotel.

Day 2: (Fri) Johannesburg / Sun City (B)
This morning after a leisurely breakfast, you will be met and transferred to Sun City on the Sun City shuttle transfer. The resort offers entertainment for the whole family, from the exciting Sun City Casino & Entertainment Complex, the Superbowl with outstanding rock concerts and lavish extravaganzas, two championship golf courses, numerous other sporting facilities, as well as a man-made wave pool and so much more!  

Day 3: (Sat) Sun City (B)
The day may be spent at leisure to explore the complex and its many facilities.

Day 4: (Sun) Sun City / Johannesburg / Cape Town (B)
After breakfast, board the scheduled shuttle  transfer back to Johannesburg International Airport, for your flight to Cape Town (own account). On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore this vibrant city.

Day 5: (Mon) Cape Peninsula (B)
The Cape Peninsula - a journey with incomp-arable scenery; driving along the Atlantic seaboard, via Hout Bay on to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and its scenic viewing point. Stop to visit the penguins at Boulders Beach and the naval port of Simon's Town.

Day 6: (Tue) Cape Winelands (B)
Today you escape to the tranquillity and 'old worlde' charm of the quaint towns of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbsoch in the Cape Winelands. Stopping along the way to sample wines at well-known estates.

Day 7: (Wed) Cape Town / Oudtshoorn (B)
We depart by 08h00 and travel via the town of Montagu on 'Route 62' (South Africa's version of America's famous 'Route 66') to the pretty village of Barrydale where we stop for tea at the Country Pumpkin Restaurant. Then on to Oudtshoorn, known as the 'Feather Capital of the World' thanks to its huge ostrich industry. After a fascinating tour of an ostrich farm, we go underground to marvel at the icy formations in the Cango Caves, regarded, for good reason, as one of South Africa's most spectacular natural wonders. We overnight in Oudtshoorn. 

Day 8: (Thu) Oudtshoorn / Knysna (BD)
We drive via the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to the town of George, where we then continue on to Knysna in the best possible way - on board the nostalgic steam train, the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe. Upon arrival in Knysna spend the rest of the day discovering the joys of the town's many art galleries, craft shops and coffee bars.

Day 9: (Fri) Knysna (BL)
Cruise on the vast Knysna Lagoon, then visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy an amazing view of the imposing sandstone 'Heads' which guard the sea entrance to Knysna's huge tidal lagoon, and the forests, marshes and pristine beaches surrounding it. After lunch spend the rest of the day at leisure to enjoy this lovely and special town.

Day 10: (Sat) Knysna / Port Elizabeth (B)
We get to Port Elizabeth mid-afternoon, after a drive through the glorious indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest. You will be dropped off at your selected hotel. Spend the day at leisure, exploring the 'Friendly City' of Port Elizabeth.

Day 11: (Sun) Port Elizabeth / Durban (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport for your flight to Durban (own account). On arrival at Durban International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 12: (Mon) Durban (B)
Durban is a city of fascinating contrasts, shaped by the early Colonial Settlers, the indigenous Zulu population and the Indians who arrived as indentured labourers in the 19th Century. Visit Durban's newest and exciting development - uShaka Marine World, for a day of complete escapism and fun.

Day 13: (Tue)  Durban / Kruger National Park (B)
This morning transfer back to Durban International Airport for your onward flight to Kruger (own account). On arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your Rest Camp. Spend the next few days discovering the beauty of the African bush in an open safari vehicle, looking out for the 'Big Five'.

Day 14: (Wed) Kruger National Park  (B)
After a dawn wake-up call, depart on another exciting game drive spending a full day in the famous Kruger National Park region. This incredible expanse of wilderness is unrivalled in its variety of wildlife.

Day 15: (Thu) Kruger National Park / Johannesburg (B)
A last early morning game drive before transferring for your flight to Johannesburg International Airport (own account) and your onward connection, after experiencing all the highlights that South Africa has to offer.
