TN/06 - Kerala with Tamilnadu Pilgrimage

Route - Munnar(2)- Madurai(2) - Kanyakumari(1) - Kovalam(1) - Kumarakom(1) - Alleppey(1) - Cochin 

Highlight - This is a regular Tourist Itinerary for visiting premier destinations of Kerala (Hill station of Munnar, Backwaters of Alleppey and Beaches of Kovalam) and pilgrimage destinations of Tamilnadu (Madurai Meenakshi Temple, Rameshwaram, Thirunelveli and Kanyakumari) . 

Recommended Itinerary (Can be customised as per guest preferences)

• Day 1: Arrive Kochi - Munnar (approx 120 kms / 3-4 hrs) - Arrive Ernakulam Railway station / Cochin Airport and depart for Munnar.

• Day 2: Munnar - After breakfast proceed for half-day sightseeing tour visiting Mattupaty Dam, Eravikulam National Park. 

• Day 3: Munnar -Madurai (approx 150 kms / 3-4 hrs) - After breakfast depart for Madurai. Evening visit Meenakshi Temple.

• Day 4: Madurai - After breakfast, full day excursion to Rameshwaram. Rameshwaram (also spelt as Rameswaram) is a pilgrimage centre and is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga Shiva temples.
  Late evening return back to the hotel.

• Day 5: Madurai - Kanyakumari (approx 250 kms / 7 hrs) -After early breakfast, depart by surface to Kanyakumari enroute visiting Thirunelveli Temple/ Courtallam (known for waterfalls)

• Day 6: Kanyakumari - Kovalam (approx 100 kms / 2 hrs) -After breakfast, morning at leisure
  12:00 hrs check-out and reach Kovalam. Explore beaches around the area.

• Day 7: Kovalam - Kumarakom (approx 175 kms / 4 hrs) - After breakfast, depart by surface to Kumarakom. Rest of day free for relaxation.

• Day 8: Kumarakom - Alleppey - After breakfast travel to Alleppey jetty (35 kms). Around noon embark on the houseboat for the cruise and overnight stay. 

• Day 9: Alleppey -Kochi (approx 90 kms / 2 hrs) After breakfast on board and around 10 depart for Kochi Airport / Ernakulam railway station

• Above is a recommended itinerary, sequence of the activities may vary and depend on prevailing weather condition and guest preferences.

Access - Cochin (Gets daily flights from all major destinations of India and Gulf Countries). Ernakulam a major railhead on the Konkan Rail / Southern Rail Route.
