Following destinations are accessible from Mumbai by a train for a getaway.

Pench, a tiger reserve and a popular wildlife destination is just 90 kms from Nagpur which is accessible by convenient overnight trains from Mumbai.

Pachmarhi, a hill station in Madhya Pradesh is accessible by overnight train to Pipariya (46 kms from Pachmarhi). This is an all season destination and even good to visit during Monsoon when several large waterfalls come alive in the hills around the area.

Jabalpur is a very good access point for Kanha (165 kms) and Bandhavgarh (200 kms) and has convenient overnight trains from Mumbai.

Indore has a convenient overnight train from Mumbai and can be considered excellent base point to visit Jyotirliga Shiva temples of Omkareshwar / Mahakaleshwar and off-beat Hill station of Mandu.
